JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission grilled Thursday the Social Affairs Ministry's director general for social empowerment, Gunawan Sumodiningrat, in a probe on funds intended for the poor.
Gunawan is the third person to be questioned after the head of the ministry's poor empowerment division, Sonny W. Manalu, and Akib Masri, a staffer for the Social Affairs Minister, detik.com newsportal reported.
The Supreme Audit Agency discovered in a 2005 audit at least 70 suspicious cash flows worth Rp 287.89 billion (US$31.7 million), including illegitimate costs and disbursements to non-targets.
